recently I used toasted hemp wood chips as an alternative for toasted oak wood chips for aging homemade rum. After toasting on lower temps than harder woods, hemp wood gives a distinct nice sweet smell but while other woods definitely add taste and body to the drink, hemp wood seems to remove some of its original (melasse)flavors. So I was wondering if hemp wood might have active carbon-like filtrating effects, I found this site.

I knew that hemp had a great many uses and benefits, but I had no idea water filtration was one of them! This could prove useful to so many who are without clean drinking water.

Here’s to keeping the information flowing. I had no idea there were hemp water filters that can not only clean the water but make it softer. I am personally going to order one and see how it works. Just one more good thing involving hemp………….
